Kyrylo Ahtymovych is a conceptual photographer and digital collage artist from Mykolaiv, Ukraine. He defines his artistic direction as art brut - an art, free of stereotypes, that avoids any kind of standards, rules, and other's artistic influences. It is also called outsider art and it is for a reason. Denying any external influence is harder than it may seem, almost impossible. And the decision to create this way equals a conscious decision of being an outsider to the current art world. At least in terms of following rules. Noting the variety of Kyrylo's projects and works, it is yet possible to spot a line of similarities that unite many of them. The photodocumentary approach, deliberate carelessness, nudity, random angles, catchy style of the models, double exposure, and drawing over the pictures are among them. According to Ahtymovych, he uses different combinations of these approaches to make viewers feel uncomfortable and even anxious, provoking them to search for something new about themselves and their place in the world. Works as an individual creative photographer for hire, as well as creates his own projects. Collaborated with several Ukrainian artists, including Mitya Fenechkin and Rustam "Cuscus". Published in print and digital publications: Prime Magazine, Discarded Magazine, PONNY MAG, Swanky Magazine, Something Different Magazine, Top Posters Magazine, Mob Journal, ANVANE magazine, MARIKA Magazine, PROFICIENT Magazine. Published on the portal of Ukrainian contemporary art MiTETS. Author of the cover for the poetry collection "Sun on the Raid" by Ukrainian poet Oleg Dorosh (2021). Took part in the international exhibition festival of contemporary art Mykolaiv Art Week: CHANGE (Mykolaiv, Ukraine, 2021).
